چکیده
Objective: Leishmania recidivans is a chronic form of cutaneous leishmaniasis with characteristic picture. So the aim this study to record all cases leishmania that had history therapy by sodium stibogluconate. Patients and methods: This case series descriptive interventional therapeutic. Twenty-two patients clinical picture were included. All gave 2-4-month duration before time therapeutic injection They treated intralesional injections stibogluconate for several times every two weeks months years present presentation examination. combination oral ketoconazole, zinc sulfate topical 15-25% podophyllin around 1-2 months. Results: evaluated, their ages ranged from 1-20 median 10 years, 16 (72.72%) males 6 (27.27%) females. The location lesions was mostly on face upper limbs. On examination, there ill-defined plaques clearing at centers leaving some atrophy scarring while active dusky red papules nodules periphery primary lesion. response regime obvious after three marked one month almost complete clearance 2 Conclusions: work showed new explanation evolution as induced recidivans. Oral ketoconazole combined are effective modes treatment

متن کاملSodium Stibogluconate: Therapeutic use in the Management of Leishmaniasis
Leishmaniasis causes significant morbidity and mortality worldwide. The disease is endemic in developing countries of tropical regions, and in recent years economic globalization and increased travel has also spread to people in developed countries. In the absence of effective vaccines and vector-control measures, the main line of defense against the disease is chemotherapy. Organic pentavalent...

متن کاملHIV-1 replication is stimulated by sodium stibogluconate, the therapeutic mainstay in the treatment of leishmaniasis.
Leishmaniasis is an important opportunistic disease among patients infected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-1. The pentavalent antimony compound sodium stibogluconate is a drug of choice for the treatment of leishmaniasis. Because sodium stibogluconate acts as an inhibitor of phosphotyrosyl phosphatases and such inhibitors can promote HIV-1 replication, we tested the effect of this comp...
متن کاملImmunization Against Cutaneous Leishmaniasis by Alginate Microspheres Loaded With Autoclaved Leishmania Major (ALM) and Quillaja Saponins
Leishmania antigens are weak immunogens and need to be potentiated by various adjuvants and delivery systems. Alginate microspheres as an antigen delivery system and Quillaja saponins (QS) as an immunoadjuvant have been used to enhance the immune response against Autoclaved Leishmania major (ALM). Microspheres were prepared by an emulsification technique and characterized for size, encapsulatio...
